End To The MA Elks License Plate Program
 
Massachusetts Elks Lodge Exalted Rulers,Secretary's and Members:
 
At the State meeting in January at Auburn/Webster Lodge #2118, Fred Cohen-President of the Mass Elks Scholarship, Inc., announced because there wasn't enough support for the Mass Elks License program, deposits will be mail back to those members that submitted an application at the end of March.
 
I am requesting that you please put this in your lodge bulletin.

I would like to thank both teams for all their work in getting ready for this years contest.
 
I would all so like to thank all seven ER's who competed in the 11 O'clock toast contest, James McGahey, Robert Lafave, Michael McNamara, Lin Brennan, Sandra Cowburn, Linda Narcz-Earhart and Dawn Viens. All ER's performed outstanding in their rendition of the 11 O'clock toast.

Passing of Sister of Waltham Past District Deputy Michael Keough, Jr.
 
I have the sad duty to report that Agnes (Keough) Paul, sister of Michael Keough Jr.PDD of the Waltham Lodge, passed away on Sunday February 28, 2010.  She was also the Aunt of Michael Keough lll of the Waltham Lodge and Metro-West Esquire Designate.   Our sympathies go out to the entire Keough Family on their loss.

MA Elks State Trustee Phil Towne Has Knee Replacement Surgery
 
I have been informed that MA Elks State Trustee for the Metro-North District Phil Towne had knee replacement surgery during the last week in February and was transferred to Wyngate Rehab in Reading, MA.  If there were no complications, he should be home sometime this week.  We all wish Phil a speedy recovery and hope to see up and about soon.
