MA Elks Day at Suffolk Downs Is Back On !!! 
 
 
State Chairman for Elks Day at Suffork Downs Frank Staffier has informed me that due to a delay in the State Legislature bringing up the Slot Machine/Casino Bill, Suffolk Downs Management has decided to hold off on their renovations of their facility, so Tickets are available for Saturday May 22, 2010 at Noon, as the MA Elks will be holding our Annual Day at Suffolk Downs after all.   There will be two races dedicated, one to our State President Jim Strojny and the other in the memory of Ralph Cantino who was very active with this event.  The price is $30.00 per person.  This includes preferred parking, club house admission, program and full lunch buffet.  Reservations may be made just by calling any member of the committee in your state book.

Update on Guy Abruzzese Past District Deputy of the Braintree Lodge
 
I have been informed by Dan DeGregorio PSP, that Guy Abruzzese  PDD of the Braintree Lodge, is now resting and recovering at home. He went under a successful procedure at Tufts Medical Center yesterday to correct a heart fluttering/rhythm problem he had.  He is tired, but still has plans to be at Wareham Lodge's Installation of Officers Ceremony tomorrow Friday April 9, 2010.  Well that answers the age old question, if Guy had a heart !!!

MA Elks News:  Attention Members all

The next deadline for the Mass Elks News is the Regional meeting in May. But you don't have to wait till then to send in your picture and articles, the sooner the better.  There are two Holidays in May, there for I have to have the paper into the printer as early as possible to get it printed and in the mail so as to have it to the members before the State Convention in June.

State Chairman:  If you have a report, or are running an event this summer /fall  now is the time to get you articles and flyers to me for publication.

Candidates running for office:

1.      If you are running unopposed all I need form you is a picture, with your name, lodge name and number,  District and office you are running for.

2.      If you running in  a race, I need your picture ad a short bio from you.  Pictures are best emailed as a jpeg attachment, (please do not edit  pictures before sending them to me). 

State Officers:   Please get you messages into me before the Regional meeting, it would be greatly appreciated.  Please remember the Grand Lodge Publicity Chairman recommends that your messages be short  and to the point, it makes easier reading for all.

Members:  Did you become a Parent, Grandparent or Great grandparent, well we want to know.  Send me your babies picture, birth date, gender, weight, height and parents names for our ‘News from the Stork” section.

I want to thank all of you for your pictures, articles and messages and for sending them  in so promptly.  I so apologize if I miss one  here and there, I get so many and try to publish everything I get, but sometimes it just isn’t possible and sometimes mistakes happened even if we don’t mean them to.
