Update on Gail Falzone, Wife of MA Elks 1st Vice President Richard Falzone
 
Update on Gail Falzone as of Thursday May 6, 2010
 
Gail Falzone had a MR test Tuesday to determine if they can remove some of the remaining tumor in her brain.
The results are that they are optimistic that they may be able to remove part of that remaining tumor and have scheduled her for surgery
Today (Friday) at the Brigham.& Woman’s Hospital. She was transferred there yesterday afternoon.

Passing of Brother-in-Law of SDGER Michael Zellen
 
John H. Chetham
 
I have the sad duty to report that John H. Chetham, of Longmont passed away May 4th 2010 at his home surrounded by his wife of fifty-six years and his four children. He was born September 8, 1925 in Somerville, MA to Harry R. and Marguerite (Borns) Chetham.  He was the husband of SDGER Mike Zellen's older sister Claire. 

He graduated early from Somerville High School in February 1944 for Navy enlistment. John served in the South Pacific on a Destroyer Tender, the USS Altair (AD-11), during the end of WWII.

On September 4, 1953 he married Claire Zellen of Everett, MA. While working for Raytheon Company to support his family he attended night school earning a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, graduating from Northeastern University in 1961 and was a member of the Northeastern Sigma Epsilon Rho Honor Society. He worked for Raytheon Company for thirty-six years. In addition to his passion for family, friends and Square-dancing, he was an active amateur short-wave radio operator, call sign “W1OSY.”

John lived with his family in Sudbury, MA for 43 years until 2004 when they moved to Colorado to be closer to children and grand children.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Thomas and Charles Chetham.

He is survived by his wife Claire of Longmont, CO; Four Children Susan Howard of Fairfax Station, VA, Johnny Chetham of Longmont, Paul Chetham of Denver and Steven Chetham of Niwot, brother Richard Chetham and grandchildren, Rebecca Atkinson, Sean Howard, Megan Howard, Rachel Chetham, Sarah Chetham, Michael Chetham, Ryan Chetham and Matthew Chetham.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 15th at The Callahan House in Longmont, CO. Cremation entrusted to Carroll-Lewellen Funeral & Cremation Services. Friends may donate to the Alzheimer’s Association c/o Carroll-Lewellen Funeral & Cremation Services, 503 Terry Street, Longmont, CO, 80501. Friends may share thoughts and memories with the family at www.carroll-lewellen.com

MA State President Testimonial Hospitality Room at the Quality Inn Somerset

 
The date is fast approaching and we are finalizing the preparations for the Testimonial for our State President Jim Strojny and the Hospitality Room at the Quality Inn Somerset for the weekend of May 14th and 15th.
