MA Elks Association Annual State Convention June 12-14, 2009

 

 

The Annual Meeting of the Massachusetts Elks Association, Inc. will be held at the Sea Crest Oceanfront Resort & Conference Center in N. Falmouth Massachusetts on Saturday June 13, 2009. President William E. Reilly, III will call the meeting to order promptly at 8:45 A.M.

 

A cordial invitation is hereby extended to all members of the Association to be present at this meeting. Matters, which are of vital concern to all Lodges will be discussed as well as plans for future State Association programs.

 

Any member planning to speak under New Business or Good of the Association shall notify the Secretary prior to the commencement of the meeting.

 

EXALTED RULERS, your attendance at the Annual Meeting is of paramount importance to your Lodge. Please encourage all your Officers and interested Members to accompany you to this meeting. Please remind the delegates attending from your Lodge that they must present a current membership card in order to register and receive a voting credential.

 

STATE COMMITTEE CHAIRMEN, if you plan to give a final oral report please confine your report to the highlights of your program, please be brief and to the point as we have a full agenda. It is not necessary to speak to have your report included in the convention proceedings, simply present a written copy of your report or send it via email to the Secretary.

 

REGISTRATION. The credentials desk will be located in the hotel lobby and will be open for registration on Friday, June 12th from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. and on Saturday June 13th from 8:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. All delegates must present a current membership card in order to register and receive a voting credential.

 

VOTING. The polls will open for the election of officers at approximately 11:30 A.M and will close at 12:30 P.M. In order to receive a ballot, all delegates must present their credential and current membership card at the entrance to the voting area.

MA Elks March At Bourne National Cemetery
 
 
MA South District Deputy Ernie Butilier, being escorted by Orleans/Eastham Lecturing Knight Dolly Fortier present the Elks Memorial Wreath at the Annual Memorial Day Services at the Bourne National Cemetery on Sunday, May 24, 2009.  More than 25 Elks were present to march in the service once again this year.

Grand Esteemed Lecturing Knight Ed Volta Honored  
 
 
Pictured above is Special Deputy Mike Zellen presenting a plaque to Grand Esteemed Lecturing Knight, the Honorable Edward Volta, commemorating his year as a Grand Lodge Officer.   A great turnout of members from over 50 lodges were in attendance to honor Ed, on Saturday May 23, 2009 at the Saugus/Everett Lodge.  Pictured below are the MA Elks State Officers with Ed.  L-R Rich Falzone 2nd Vice President, Jim Strojny President-Elect, Ed Volta, Bill Reilly President and Don Dewar 1st Vice President.
