Mary Ondrick Wife of GL Committeeman Steve Ondrick in Hospital
 

I have been informed that Mary Ondrick, wife of Grand Lodge Committeeman Steve Ondrick, has suffered a mini-stroke (TIA) and is presently at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, Ma,  undergoing a battery of tests.

Steve said they are taking the necessary precautions and keeping her at the hospital.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mary in hopes that she makes a speedy and complete recovery.

Taunton Lodge #150 Host Eagle Scout Court of Honor
 
On May 28, 2009, the Taunton Lodge of Elks #150 hosted a reception for the most recent Eagle Scout Court of Honor.  In all 16 young men received Scouting's highest honor, the rank of Eagle Scout.  The lodge welcomed local Scout Leaders, Eagle Scouts and their families, and as part of the evenings festivities, Lee Davis, Exalted Ruler of the Taunton Lodge of Elks and James Strojny President-Elect of the Massachusetts Elks Association, presented each Eagle Scout with a special certificate along with an American Flag, in recognition of their hard work and dedication in becoming Eagle Scouts.   Thanks also goes out to members Coz and Dom Magazu for putting on the meal for everyone back at the lodge.
 
 
Those receiving the rank of Eagle Scout were: Jonathan M. Bevis Troop 12, Dean G. Kennedy Troop 15, Jakob A. Carlson Troop 15, Robert C. Champagne Troop 15, Brian R.A. Riley Troop 17, Anthony E. Texas Hold’em Tournament at the MA Elks State Convention
 
We will be holding a, Texas Hold’em Tournament at the MA Elks State Convention on Friday Night June 12, 2009, as our convention fundraiser.  Are you as good as the Pros on TV?  Here is your chance to prove it!  This tournament is for Elks and Elks Guests only.  Including a $1,000.00 First Place Cash Card, (1 in 10 Additional Cash Card Prizes).  The Tournament starts at the conclusion of the Annual Memorial Service.  Entrance Fee is $75.00 per player.  You may pay at the door, but to ensure a seat, early registration can be made by check, payable to the MA Elks Association and forwarded to:  Linda Burdett, 27 Franklin St. Attleboro, MA 02703.  Also, for those who do not play Texas Hold’em their will be other games available that evening.   And additional side tables will be available for those not lucky enough to advance to the final table.  For more information contact Frank Staffier, Jim Brevigleiri, Bob Burdett or Larry Quaglia.
 
Reminder - MA Elks To Hold Blood Drive At Our Annual State Convention
 
The MA Elks Blood Donor Committee is running it's First Annual Blood Drive to be held at the Sea Crest Convention Center Hotel !

It will be held on Friday June 12th from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
 
To schedule an appt. please call the Red Cross at 1-800-GIVE-LIFE. Tell them you are giving your donation to the MASS ELKS ASSOCIATION Blood Drive.

Help is needed to run the canteen and registration booths. Please contact Tom Muldoon -
