Reminder “ELK ON THE TRAIL” ANNUAL MEMORIAL SERVICE This Sunday

Douglas A. Merrick State Chairman doug@bcn.net

The 87th Anniversary of the “Elk on the Trail” Ceremony will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at 12:00 Noon.  It will be held at the Elk Memorial on Whitcomb Summit, Route 2, in Florida, Massachusetts.  This year the music will be provided by Dan Clark "The Singing Trooper".

This is the only State Association sponsored Veteran’s Memorial Program.  Please help us honor our deceased Veterans by attending this very important service.  All members, families, and guests are invited to attend.

As in past years, we are asking that each Lodge send a representative to the service, and participate in honoring our deceased Veterans by bringing a small wreath (preferably artificial as it will be there all year) representing their lodge.  Upon arrival please register so that you will be included in the Ceremony.

The Greenfield Lodge # 1296 will again be serving breakfast at their lodge on Sunday morning for those who wish to arrive early and relax before “climbing the mountain”.

The dress of the day will be jacket and tie.

Dinner will be served at the North Adams Lodge #487 immediately following the ceremony.

Since the weather can sometimes be on the cool (or wet) side, please bring a jacket or sweater along with a lawn chair if you wish to sit.

In case of rain, the service will be held at the North Adams Lodge.

MA Elks Blood Donor Committee

We will be holding our 2nd Annual Blood Drive this year at the Sea Crest, during our Annual State Convention.

The Blood Drive will be held on Friday, June 11th, 2010 from 1PM to 6PM. The Red Cross will be using a Blood Mobile which will be set up in the parking lot. Registration for the Blood Drive will be held in the lobby of the Sea Crest.

To schedule an appointment to donate please call 1-800-GIVE LIFE. Tell them you are donating for the Mass Elks on June 11 at the Sea Crest and they will try to accommodate your request. Walk-ins are also welcome.

We need a minimum of 26 people to show for us to run a successful Blood Drive. Your help is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions PLEASE feel free to contact me. Tom Muldoon at  tfmpdd@aol.com or 1-508-788-9525

Thank You
