Update on the State Convention Saturday Evening Reception and Banquet
From President Jim Strojny and President Elect Donald Dewar
Since the membership voted at the February Regional meeting to change the dress at the Saturday Evening Banquet
At Sea Crest from Summer Formal to Business suit there still appears to be some confusion.
The following will be asked to wear their white dinner jacket for the Banquet.
· All State Officers
· Installing Suite
· Head Table Guests
· Past State Presidents
· Current District Deputies
· Esquires to the District Deputy (DD Designates)
All other members may wear business suit or Sports Jacket and Tie. Ladies should focus on evening wear/cocktail dresses/gowns.
Please call or e-mail any questions to the Convention Committee.

The 87th Anniversary of the “Elk on the Trail” Ceremony was held on Sunday, June 6, 2010, unfortunately due to the rain the ceremony had to be held indoors at the North Adams Lodge #487. This year the musical accompaniment was provided by Dan Clark "The Singing Trooper", who brought the house down with his vocals. Click on the link Below for more information:
The Greenfield Lodge # 1296 once again served a great breakfast at their lodge that morning for the many members who attended the service before “climbing the mountain”. A fine Dinner was served at the North Adams Lodge #487 immediately following the ceremony. Pictured below are some of the MA Elks that participated in the ceremony.

Our State President Jim Strojny, welcomed all in attendance for coming out to pay tribute to all our Veterans, especially those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and to all our current Men and Women who are serving our country today. Special Guest Speaker was MA SDGER Mike Zellen, who gave an inspiring speech, as he touched on the sacrifices that all our Veterans and their Families have and continue to make for our Freedom. Also, a new collectors item was being sold that is a wooden cut-out of the Elk on the Trail as shown below by 2nd Vice President Frank Barone.

A special thank you goes out to all the Lodges, Districts and PER Associations (including 2 Lodges from New York) that were present and presented wreaths. Once again an outstanding job was done by Doug & David Merrick and their committee, as Mother Nature really put a "damper" on the day, but the wreaths were placed at the Memorial Site the next day!
