Update on MA Elks East-Central State Trustee
Rosemary Lent
I have been informed that
East-Central District State Trustee Rose Lent, PER of the
Maynard Lodge #1568, has been hospitalized in at Beth Israel,
where she is in serious condition with heart issues. They are
still trying to get the fluid off of her lungs before they can
attempt any surgery for the blockage. She’s doing well, and
looking good. One thing we did find out is one of her kidneys
has failed, they are hoping it is just from the excess fluids.

Update on Arrangements for Kevin Dupont, Son of
Chicopee PER Ron Dupont
I have the sad duty to report on the arrangements of
Army Sgt. 1st Class Kevin A. Dupont,
son of Chicopee Lodge #1849 Past Exalted Ruler Ron Dupont.
On Wednesday June 24, 2009, Kevin's remains will
arrive at Westover Airforce Base in Chicopee sometime in the afternoon.
There will be a solemn ceremony plane-side and an escort to the funeral
home.
Wake will be Thursday June 25, 2009, at Chicopee High School, 820 Front
Street, Chicopee, MA from 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM.
Funeral will be Friday June 26, 2009 at HOLY NAME OF JESUS church, 33
South Street in Chicopee at 10:00 AM..
After the Funeral ceremony, a motorcade carrying Kevin will depart at
noon and travel to the US Military Cemetery in Bourne, MA. The route
will be, Mass Pike to Rte 495 South to the Bourne Bridge and into the
Cemetery. The burial will be at approximnately.2:50 PM.

MA Elks Association's 86th Annual Elk on the
Trail Ceremony
On
Saturday June 20, 2009 the 86th Annual MA Elk on the
Trail Ceremony, this service honors all Elks and their family
members from Massachusetts, who have given their lives in defense of
our country. This monument is located on Route 2 on Whitcomb
Summit, in Florida, MA. In attendance was Grand Esteemed Lecturing
Knight, the Honorable Edward P. Volta and his wife Pat.
State
President Jim Strojny, dedicated this year’s service to Army Sgt.
1st Class Kevin A. Dupont, son of Chicopee Lodge #1849 Past Exalted
Ruler H. Ron Dupont and his wife Gwendolyn, who succumbed to his
battle injuries on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 that he received back on
March 8, 2009, after the Humvee in which he was riding in
Afghanistan ran over an improvised explosive device. He was serving
with the Massachusetts Army National Guard at the time.
