Passing of Joseph Balestrieri, Father of MA Elks PSP Joe Balestrieri, Jr.

I have the sad duty to report on the passing of Joseph V. Balestrieri, on Tuesday August 10, 2010 at the E. N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford. He was the father of MA Elks Association Past State President Joseph V. Balestrieri, Jr. & his wife Dotty of Billerica and Gary Balestrieri & his wife Marsha of Wilmington.

Joe enlisted in the United States Army on August 21, 1940, he actively and proudly served all over Europe during World War II with Company B 171^st Engineer Combat Battalion earning many commendations including the Purple Heart for his heroic service. Joe was honorably discharged as a First Sergeant on June 23, 1945. He was a member of the Billerica Lodge of Elks.

Family & friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc.,187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2010 from 4:00 PM -8:00 PM. Funeral will be held on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 8:45 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony’s Church, 351 Main St. (Rte. 38) Woburn at 10:00 AM. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.

Memorial donation’s in Joseph’s name may be made to E. N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital, Building 4 Ward D Second Floor, 200 Springs Road, Bedford, MA 01730. Retired Wilmington Police Officer. U. S. Army Veteran and Purple Heart Recipient WWII.

MA Elks Association State Convention Raffle

The Ma Elks State Trustees once again this year, are offering a special raffle for a full weekend at the upcoming State Convention in June at the Sea Crest Resort. There are a limited number of tickets available and will sell out FAST ! The donation per ticket is only $ 5.00 and once they are gone they are gone.

The prizes for this raffle are as follows:

1^st Prize = 2 Nights Accommodations/ Full package @ Sea Crest (Plan A) or $599 cash

2^nd Prize= $200 cash

3^rd Prize = $100 cash

See your District State Trustees at the upcoming August District Deputy Clinics for Tickets !!!!!
