MA Elks Annual Veterans Appreciation Dinner

At the Annual MA Elks Veterans Appreciation Dinner put on by the MA Elks Veterans Committee we were able to break bread with many of the various Massachusetts VA Center Staff and MA

One of the highlights of the evening, the MA Elks Association was presented an award for our support of the 2009 Rehabilitation Through Sport - New England Winter Sports "Thank You For Honoring A Nations Commitment To The Defenders Of Freedom"

MA Metro-North District Runs Fundraiser for Veterans

Winthrop Lodge Members Dean Kowalczuk PER and Al McCarthy PER along with their wives Brenda Kowalczuk and Hannah McCarthy (both members of the Winthrop Lodge), ran a raffle to benefit the MA Elks Veterans.

It consisted of a Personal Chartered Duck Tour (for up to 32 people) of Boston, which will be on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 6:30 PM (a $750.00 value).  The Tour was donated by Brian McGrail who is the Winthrop Lodge Esquire.  The Raffle was drawn at the Metro-North District Deputy Clinic and raised $1,275.00 (of which $250.00 will be used for an additional Duck Tour for our Hospitalized Veterans later this fall), and the remaining $1,025.00 will be given to the MA Elks Veterans Committee.  Not too bad for a raffle that was put together just a few weeks ago.  Look for next year, as they plan on running another one to benefit our Veterans.
