MA Elks Annual Trip To Ground Zero

Our Second Annual MA Elks Trip to Ground Zero was held over the weekend of September 26 & 27, 2009.  Thanks goes out to Frank Staffier for organizing a wonderful experience for all of us and to his able assistant Al Egersheim.  We started of by having lunch at Rockefeller Center and then on to the Teardrop Memorial in New Jersey.  We dined at night at a nice Italian Restaurant that evening.  On Sunday, we had a nice buffet breakfast and then of to Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty (even the rain could not dampen our pride) and we then traveled to Ground Zero (what a humbling experience being there creates) and we finished off our weekend with lunch on the Hudson River.

Picture below:  Some of the MA Elks who traveled to Ground Zero, as we were allowed to go inside and view the memorial that is dedicated to the six firefighters from this station that were killed on 9-11-09 and the outside memorial to all firefighters who were killed that day.
