Once again the Taunton Lodge of Elks #150 Hall was the site of the 13th Annual Kick-Off Dinner to help celebrate the 79th Game between city rivals, Coyle-Cassidy and Taunton High Schools, which was held on Sunday November 22, 2009.

This marks the 13th year that "The Game" has been back on Thanksgiving Day.  Lodge Kitchen Crew Chairman Bob Viera and his committee did an outstanding job with setting up the hall and serving a great meal, as over 250 were served a fine Roast Beef Dinner.

The Dinner included remarks by both High School Athletic Directors, School Administrators, City and State Officials along with the Students and Parents of all participants in the Thanksgiving Day Game, who were special guest of the Lodge.

This night also included the 10th Annual awarding of 6 Thanksgiving Day Scholarships of $1,000.00 each to six Seniors (Three from each School), by Thanksgiving Day Scholarship Chairman Dan Dermody and his committee.  In the 10 year of this scholarship program and to date the Taunton Lodge of Elks have awarded almost $40,000.00 in Scholarships to eligible Seniors who have participated in this game for at least 3 years.  Football, Cheerleaders and Band Members are eligible for this Scholarship.
