Today is: President's Day (formerly Washington's Birthday) in the United States
On this date in 1868 - Benevolent & Protective Order of the Elks founded in New York
Did You Know that the Mount Adams (White Salmon), WA #1868 is known as "THE BIRTHDAY LODGE" of Elkdom. Why the Birthday Lodge? Because their  Lodge number is 1868,
the same year this great organization was formed.

2009-2010 MA Elks District Deputy Designates and District Deputy Esquire Designates Named
 
It was announced by our Special Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler Mike Zellen and our three Area Special Representatives, Mark Cronin, John White and Anthony Piccolo, at our 3rd Regional Meeting at the Saugus/Everett Lodge #642, the members of our Association who have been selected to serve the 2009-2010 Grand Lodge as our District Deputy and District Deputy Esquire Designates.  They will begain to serve after our National Convention this July, in Portland, OR. 
 
Our congratulations go out to all these individuals on their appointments.  But remember they do not go into office until after the National Convention, so please remember our current District Deputies are in charge until then.
