Passing of Quincy Lodge #943 Longtime Veterans
Volunteer Thomas Garrity
It is my sad duty to inform you of the
passing of long time (over 50 years) Veterans Service Committee member
Tom Garrity of the Quincy Lodge #943 on Friday May 8, 2009 after a long
illness. Tom was also the Elks VAVS Representative at the Jamaica Plain
Medical Center and State Vice Chairman - East of the MA Elks Veterans
Committee for many years.
Information from the family should be
available soon and will be posted as soon as I receive it.

Surgery for David Charbonneau, State
Trustee – Approving Member
I have been informed that
David
Charbonneau PER State Trustee of the Auburn/Webster Lodge
#2118, underwent a procedure on Thursday May 7, 2009 at
St. Vincent Hospital
in
Worcester to
insert a stent to open a blockage in a coronary artery. David is doing
well and hopes to be home on Friday.

Surgery for Ernie Butilier District
Deputy MA South District
I have been informed Ernie Butilier DDGER MA South District of the
Orleans/Eastham Lodge #2572, underwent an emergency procedure on Friday
May 8, 2009 in insert a couple of stentws to open blockages, this was
done as a result of testing for another condition for which he was at
the hospital. Ernie is doing well and hopes to be home soon.

Reminder - MA Elks Day at Suffolk Downs
Tickets are still available for Saturday
May 23, 2008 at Noon, as the MA Elks will be holding their Annual
Day at Suffolk Downs. There will be two races dedicated, one to
our State President Bill Reilly and the other in the memory of Ralph
Cantino who was very active with this event. The price is $30.00
per person. This includes preferred parking, club house admission,
program and full lunch buffet. Reservations may be made just by
calling any member of the committee in your state book.
