Did You Know Today is: No News Is Good News Day in the United States

On This Day in 2001 - At 8:46 am EDT, and again at 9:03 am, two hijacked commercial jumbo jets are flown into NYC's World Trade Towers by radical Islamic terrorists, destroying both buildings and killing 2,602 people in the two buildings (another 24 remain listed as missing) and all 147 passengers and crew on the planes (plus 10 hijackers); at 9:20 am, a third airliner crashes on the helipad adjacent to the Pentagon in Washington DC killing 59 passengers and crew aboard (plus 5 hijackers) and 125 people in the building (exactly 60 years after construction on the building began) causing one section to burn and collapse (a fourth jetliner, United 93, crashes 80 miles outside Pittsburgh, in Shanksville, PA, killing 40 people aboard, and 4 hijackers, kept from an intended target in Washington DC by the crew and passengers)

Arlington Lodge #1435 Past Exalted Ruler Andy Puccino

I have been informed that Arlington Lodge PER Andy Puccino was rushed to the Mass General Hospital on Saturday September 6, 2008 with what the Doctor's are diagnosing as a heart attack. He is undergoing testing and possible surgery. He is in the Ellison Bldg, 10th floor, Cardiac Ward, Room 32B. Please keep him in your prayers.

Hudson Lodge #959 Captures Annual MA Elks Golf Title

On a beautiful day for Golf over a 128 golfers took part in the Annual MA Elks Golf Tournament at D.W. Fields in Brockton on Monday September 8, 2008. Thanks goes out to the Randolph Lodge #2130 for hosting the meal and awards banquet in the afternoon. This year's champ came in at -13 under and was a team from the Hudson Lodge #959, which included PSP Bill Hopkins, Bill Wright, Ed Vorce and Kevin Murphy.

Reminder – Norwood Lodge 100^th Anniversary

Norwood Lodge is celebrating it’s 100^th Anniversary this year. A Centennial Banquet will be held on Friday, September 26, 2008 at the Lodge. A cocktail hour will be held from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM with dinner to follow. Dinner will consist of clam chowder, tossed salad, roast sirloin of beef and turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, coffee, tea and homemade cookies for dessert. Music will be provided by a DJ. Grand Exalted Ruler Paul D Helsel and his wife Jane will be joining us for the evening. Tickets are $40.00 per person. Tables of ten are available. A limited number of tickets are still available.
