How do Lodge's file the November 1st Membership
Report
Make sure your PC is running the newest CLMS
version 1.101.311.
CLMS will be the only way to report November 1 membership data. See the
letter sent to Lodges from Grand Secretary, Bryan Klatt. (paste
following link into your browser to view the letter)
Your PC will have to be online, either broadband or dial-up to send the
report data to the servers. There will be no alternative means to
transmit your data.
It is advisable to run the Monthly lapsation report and work that until
your figures balance, then proceed to the filing instructions. If your
new calculated ending balance is lower than the ACTIVE member count, the
program will adjust the reinstatement count to balance. If the opposite
is true, you will need to contact the Grand Secretary for instructions
to have Grand Lodge reduce your count when you file the annual report at
the end of the Lodge year.
Your Lodge may file the report during the customary filing period which
is following the last Lodge Meeting in October but before the deadline.
This is the link for November 1 filing instructions (paste following
link into your browser):
If you have difficulties with these steps,
please contact your State or District Coordinators.
Sincerely,
The CLMS development team
Auburn/Webster Lodge #2118 Hands Out
Dictionaries
The Auburn/Webster MA Lodge #2118
recently donated 1,030 dictionaries to third grade students in the Town
of Auburn and 5 other surrounding towns in the local community. In each
case the students, teachers and principle expressed their appreciation
for the generosity of the Elks. One teacher said to her students “we
no longer have to share one dictionary for all of us”.

Goldstein and Lodge Dictionary Project Chairperson Nancy E. Cronin, PER.
Beverly/Salem Lodge #1309 Past Exalted Ruler
Has Surgery
I have been informed that Beverly/Salem Lodge
PER Bob Mello, is in Salem Hospital and is going to have a pace maker
placed on Monday, October 20, 2008. He is in room #607 in the Davenport
Wing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bob, for an uneventful and
speedy recovery.
Arlington Lodge of Elks #1435 Gives to Community
Arlington
Lodge #1435 participated in a Member/Guest Charity Golf Tournament in
September, to raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer
Foundation, in conjunction with Rally for the Cure. There were 32
golfers making up 9 teams, who played at the Wayland Country Club Golf
Course.
Several local businesses and individuals donated money and/or products
(i.e. gift cards, sports paraphernalia, etc.) towards the causes.
Arlington lodge was able to raise $2,000.00 for this event. One of the
highlights of the day was Arlington member John Williams hitting a "Hole
in One" on the designated hole, that added an additional $2,500.00
towards the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, from the "Rally for
the Cure", in his name.
In addition, another $500.00 donation will be made to the Massachusetts
Elks Scholarship Fund.
