Watertown Lodge #1513 Holds Annual Football
Banquet
Watertown Lodge #1513 hosted their Annual
Watertown/Belmont Football Banquet recently. In 1955 the teams from
both High Schools were involved in a fight and were threatened with
loosing their respective football programs. In a effort to bring the
two teams together, the first banquet was held.
The banquet is traditionally held on the
Monday prior to their annual Thanksgiving game since and is attended by
the administrators, coaches, cheerleaders and of course the football
players. It is a real opportunity for everyone to get to know each
other in the spirit of good sportsmanship.
The banquet is followed up on Thanksgiving
Day, when members of the Watertown Lodge attend the game and select 1
Offensive and 1 Defensive player for each team as MVP. The trophies are
awarded at the respective team banquets at the end of the season.

Beverly/Salem Lodge #1309 Has Float in Annual
Santa Claus Parade
Beverly/Salem Lodge #1309 entered a float in
the Annual Santa Claus Parade, held in Beverly on November 30, 2008.
This is something that the lodge does every year; however, this year
with the passing of PER Bob Mello on November 12, 2008 (both Bob and his
wife Nell had been the Chairpersons of this committee for the last
several years), so the members got together to put a float in the parade
in memory of Bob. The lodge received 3rd Prize, which made all of us
involved very happy and proud to honor, both Bob and Nell.
