Bill was initiated into the Norwood Lodge on January 21, 1985 and immediately became involved in Committee work. Bill was elected to the Board of Directors of the Elks Building Corporation of Norwood in 1986 and served on the Board until 1991, having held the offices of Treasurer and President.

 

Bill was elected to Norwood Lodge’s Board of Trustees in 1989 and served on the Board until 1993 when he was elected to the Chair of Esteemed Lecturing Knight. Bill continued through the Chairs and served as Exalted Ruler in 1996-1997 and again in 1998-1999.

 

Bill has been the Secretary of Norwood Lodge since December 1999. Bill was honored to have been selected as Elk of the Year for 1999-2000, and as Officer of the Year for 2001-2002, 2003-2004 and 2004-2005.

 

Bill had the privilege of serving the Grand Lodge as District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler of the East Central District in 2002-2003.

 

Bill is a Permanent Benefactor of the Elks National Foundation. Bill is also a frequent contributor to the Massachusetts Elks Veterans Services Committee and the Massachusetts Elks Scholarship, Inc.

 

Bill has served our State Association since 1992. He has served on the News Boosters, Bowling Tournament, Drug Awareness, Public Safety, Membership and Lapsation, Credentials and Government Relations Committee. Bill was elected to office of Second Vice President of our Association in June of 2005.

 

Bill is married to his wife Bette and has two step-children, Ryan and Beth. Bill’s two brothers, Kevin and Tom and brother in law Steve are members of Norwood Lodge. Bill’s family has been extremely supportive of his Elks activities, leading by example that family involvement is key to demonstrating that Elks and their families Care and Share.
