Link your Website
If you enter the
name of just about any city or town into an internet search engine, you will
likely come upon a website for that municipality. In most cases, the site
contains a list of links to other local organizations, not only businesses but
also non profits and service organizations – like the Elks! Lodges with
websites should take advantage of this resource and contact the town or city
webmaster to arrange links from the municipality’s website to ours and vice
versa. You could point out that hundreds of thousands of Elks from around the
country log on to the Order’s websites when they travel. A link to a local
lodge could result in a link to a local hotel or other business. And a link
from our Lodge about who we are and what we do is a big Public Relations plus
for everyone in town to see! If you have a Lodge website and have not yet
created links to and from your locality website, I urge you to do so! My
understanding is, all you have to do is ask! Also email the MassElks Webmaster
Brian K. Andrews to get a link on
the state website as well. (Please let me know if and when you do, too; every
hit counts as a Public Relations point for Grand Lodge reporting purposes!)
